Dev Jarrett

Dev Jarrett is the author of the horror novels Loveless, Dark Crescent, Casualties, and Little Sister, in addition to numerous short stories in a variety of venues, both horror and science fiction. He grew up in Georgia and he’s lived all over the world, but he and his family currently reside in South Carolina. His agent is Barbara Poelle, with the Irene Goodman Literary Agency.

One of his most recent short stories (“Infinity Bottle”) appeared in an anthology (Brewtality) nominated for a Splatterpunk Award, and another of his stories (“Ambrosia”) appeared in an anthology (Horror Library Volume Five) nominated for a Bram Stoker Award. His short fiction has also appeared alongside such horror greats as Joe Lansdale, Bentley Little, Jeff Strand, and Ray Garton.

He writes to explore the extremes, those shadowy frontiers beyond life and death, and intends to keep doing that until the goblins come and drag him off. He laughs at inappropriate times, and cursewords are a big part of his daily vocabulary. His office contains at least twenty skeletons (including the one under his own meat-suit), two zombie babies, three actual voodoo dolls, and a life-size werewolf statue. In the Jarrett house, it’s Halloween pretty much every day.

His wife never asked for any of this, so pity her. He’s also father to five daughters, and a grandfather to two boys. They put up with all his strangeness without too much eye-rolling.

His dogs, Brody (named for the main character in Jaws) and Indy (named for some other main character), think he’s okay, though.
