A little about me…
I have been under the spell of the writer’s muse ever since I can remember. For those who also have this artful affliction, you will understand that it is something which penetrates to your very soul. You can’t easily shake it off of your back or out of your head: It is integral to your being. When you write it feels like you are doing what you are supposed to be doing and nothing else in the world feels like that.
I have been walking the road less traveled for over thirty years now, and during most of that time; over most of the adventures I've had, somewhere there has always been a pen and paper about to record what I have seen. A lot of the places I have traveled, like the drylands of the southern US and Mexico, or the northern wilderness of western Canada, have been amazingly remote, and it has been in such places as this and many more, that a great deal of my inspiration has been formed.
My abilities as a writer have been forged over a good number of years in the depths of the wild places I just described. I believe that the spirits of those lands can take the lion’s share of the credit for my artistic evolution, for I truly believe that it was my exposure to them that awoke and tutored my then fledgling abilities and helped them to soar.
As a pagan person and a tribalist person I believe that we are all deeply connected to the Earth and to everything in creation. In order to serve the purpose we were put here for, human beings must learn (or re-learn as is the case in modern times) to comprehend that sacred connection and re-dedicate ourselves to being the stewards of the Earth we were always intended to be.
The things I write about are a part of that re-awakening that is occurring on the Earth; that amazing revolution in worldview which is happening in the hearts and minds of so many people. In the context of pagan society, many people are returning to their roots and understanding the cosmos from the perspective of their ancient ancestors rather than under the spell of the mainstream.
I have considered myself to be a part of that awakening pagan consciousness and have been for over thirty years. As such the subject matter which I currently cover in my books has to do with my own understandings of the pagan/tribalist world.
In particular I feel qualified to write about the experiences I have had as a person of mixed Native/Northern European ancestry, and of the things I have been taught in the pagan tradition I have practiced since I was initiated in 1985.
As an old mentor of mine once said: “If you look carefully enough you will see that yes, in today’s world there are many who are lost, but among them, clearly there are also those who are determined to find their way back: back to the understandings of their tribal ancestors.”
I strongly believe that those are true words.
Subsequently over the years, I have tried to pass along what I know so that perhaps it might be of some use to those who are still trying to find their own way back.
