Hi. I'm Nancy Andres, Health and Lifestyle Writer, Author, Wellness Blogger, and person-in-progress. I wrote “Colors of Joy: A Woman's Guide for Self-Discovery, Balance, and Bliss” after 21+ years of research, study, and life experience to heal trauma from the past, re-build self-esteem, and learn an effective way to live healthier and happier.
“Colors of Joy” combines self-care methods in an interactive journal format. It supports women as they write about concerns, express secret longings, develop self-love, and find peace and gratitude in everyday living.
"Colors of Joy" combines powerful color energy ideas with 12 weeks’ worth of color themed chapters, affirmations, journal writing and reflective activities, with self-awareness tips.
Perfect for those who want to improve their outlook. Many readers say its guided journal exercises are nurturing, and even help them feel and look better. Others say "Colors of Joy" is a cool gift idea for a loved one. I use it myself, when my self-confidence is lagging or I need a fresh perspective about relationship options.
In 2004 the essay, Facing the Fire, was published in “Changing Course: Women's Inspiring Stories of Menopause, Midlife, and Moving Forward.” It was written after my own mid-life change. Writing about my mind, body, and spirit helped me process and overcome long held beliefs and ideas about myself and my healthcare practices. My early conditioning, lack of healthy role models, and harsh life experiences led me to undervalue myself and feel low self-worth. Before menopause, I lacked the confidence needed to risk bucking the system. I often bowed to the wishes of people I considered authority figures like doctors. During my change-of-life, hormones and sense of vulnerability made me yearn for time to regroup. I discovered through yoga and meditation, journal writing, twelve-step recovery groups, and health-related research and investigation how to summon the courage to conquer my demons and reinvent myself.
