Christopher Mallard

Chris is a self taught man, by most accounts. A computer nerd by day and a lover of all things science-fiction by night.

Thinking he knew all there was to know about the world, he dropped out of school in the 9th grade and paid for it with twenty years of hard labor in the oilfields of West Texas, dreaming of grander things. When he was 29, he bought his first piano and taught himself how to play. He spent his evenings teaching himself how to work on computers and at the age of 39, he quit the last oilfield job he would ever have and opened his own IT business. He has been providing IT services, from home, to clients in Texas and New Mexico ever since (6 years and counting). And for his most favorite hobby, he's currently in year 2 of teaching himself to play the cello.

Oh, and he writes books, too. Or at least, he's trying. He's had a story in his head for the better part of a decade and when he left the oilfield, his goal was to do the computer thing just until he could find a way to get the story out of his head. Distractions kept him from that goal for many years, but with the support of a patient, loving wife he's back on course. With any luck, he'll find a home for his War in Heaven series of books and live the dream every author has of seeing those books turned into movies.
