Semion Vinokur

Semion Vinokur is the author, screenwriter, film director, and the movie producer of over eighty films and documentaries. An award winner at twelve international festivals for the best documentaries, he received the first prize of the Israeli Cinema Academy for the best feature film script.

Senion Vinokur is a professor of script writing and directing at the "Sapir" Film Academy as well as at the Ma'ale Film School. He regularly supervises graduate students' graduation film projects there. He is also a member of the Israeli Film Academy.

Vinokur (born in 1957), completed his Masters Degree in Engineering in Leningrad (St. Petersburg), USSR in 1979. He completed the Elite State Course for advanced directing with the Goskino of the USSR (the State Committee for Cinematography) in Moscow in 1984, and the Elite State Course of refined script writing with Gosteleradio of the USSR (State Committee for TV and Radio) in Moscow in 1986.
