Brian King

Brian King (1952- ) was born in the heartland of the USA in Des Moines, Iowa. He is an award winning listed artist, designer, photographer, writer and an artist-activist. His writings include contract writing with Prentice Hall/Cue Books as a contributing technical writer. His writing palette includes fiction, technical, poetry and children's genre with over fifty published books. He is a pioneer of digital art since 1971. He co-published the first magazine on the Internet, "The Picture Paper, Priceless" in 1994.

King won the Marquis Who's Who Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018 for his art, writing, leadership and cultural contributions.

He owned and operated one of the first retail personal computer stores in the U.S. in 1987. He is also a well-known web designer, having invented the use of an animated intro as the opening page for a website (1992).

His lifelong interest in science fiction and horror dates back to his childhood readings of Bradbury, Heinlein, Le Guin, Ellison, Herbert, Barker, Steven King and Lovecraft. George Orwell's ubiquitous dystopian novel "1984" shaped the tone of one of King's novels, "Google Glass - Death of the Cell Phone".

King writes daily and is an active environmental artist, photographer and videographer. He resides in the USA with his fated love, his wife and muse Vikki King.
