Staci Schwartz

Staci J. Schwartz, MD is a physician, author, and children’s bullying prevention consultant. She is the author and illustrator of several children’s books, including Billy the Baaadly Behaving Bully Goat and The New Bear on the Block. Her children's books are written in rhyming verse, an enjoyable format for young readers. Her stories feature themes about friendship, empathy, and inclusiveness––concepts that form the foundation of bullying prevention education.

Her newest book, I've Got Your Back: Help Children Say Hello to Friends & Goodbye to Bullies, is a short, action-oriented guide uniquely designed for parents/teachers/caregivers and children to read together. Separate chapters for adults and kids share helpful information that will empower kids to stand up for themselves and each other, avoid (or deal with) bullying, and form kind, respectful friendships. Original children's stories include "Stop and Think" discussion questions to open the lines of communication between adult and child. A variety of fun social skill-building activities are provided that will help kids improve their self-esteem, empathy, and resilience––all while letting them know that a caring adult has their back.

Staci lives with her wonderful family in Philadelphia, PA, and performs interactive readings and bullying prevention workshops for young children in elementary schools, youth groups, after-school programs, and religious institutions. She is a firm believer that every act of kindness helps to make the world a better place.
