Ron Hamm

Ron Hamm began his writing career in community journalism at 16 as a copy boy on a morning newspaper. After stints with two other dailies and a journalism degree, he served as bureau chief for two major wire service agencies and has worked at university magazine writing and editing. In his seventh decade he began exploring various forms of biography resulting in three books. He also has played leading roles in bringing out a collection of essays by national and international scholars and statesman on the environment and another in college mysteries, a favorite genre. Of his four degrees, he values a master’s in English as his most satisfying. He has taught English and communication for the U.S. Navy around the world as well as for universities in Haiti and Argentina. After 60 years of following the writing life he is launching a new project exploring the impact of women on New Mexico, his home for the past 20 years.
