Kay Collier McLaughlin

Kay Collier McLaughlin, PhD brings a rich background as a musician raised in the environment of the National Football League

and years of experience as editor and columnist for the newspaper of the Episcopal Diocese of Lexington, music reviewer and community columnist for The Lexington Herald Leader and a leadership consultant and motivational speaker who travels the country training individuals and groups in learning how to live and work together with respect and harmony in the face of differences. She has written all of her life, and has a passion for non- fiction social justice issues and essays ranging from political , personal growth, family to devotional/ inspirational. She and her woodworker husband live on a small lake in Kentucky where she delights in her daughters, three grandchildren , playing the piano, French Horn and folk harp and creating collage wall art and bowls for rest and relaxation. She just completed a writing residency at WriteOn Door C

(Wisconsin), working with the Door County Civility Project,) and keynoting the Suzuki Association of the America’s National Conference in Zminneapolis On “ Building Bridges.”

She is a graduate of The Carnegie Center Author Academy in Lexington .
