Gregory Balestrero is co-author of Organizational Survival: Profitable Strategies for a Sustainable Future and a Strategic Advisor on Leadership, Sustainability & Corporate Consciousness with International Institute for Learning, Inc. (IIL).
He has been a global advocate for excellence in performance management and business results for over 40 years. He served as project engineer, project manager, and senior executive for several professional associations including the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE), the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), and Project Management Institute (PMI). He has also served as an advisor to the National Ignition Facility (NIF), American Society for Quality (ASQ), and the Board of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (PBTF).
During his 9 years as President and CEO of PMI, Balestrero met with business and government leaders in more than 60 countries, advocating and promoting a project focus in engineering, construction, and other sectors. This exposure shaped his thinking and message, reinforcing the need for organizations to transform themselves and integrate sustainability into their own strategies and values. Through his work, Balestrero aims to help companies discover how they can change their strategies to embrace social, environmental, and ethical responsibilities while contributing to global prosperity.
He lives in Annapolis, Maryland with his wife, Frances, and their two dogs. When not working, he is an avid sailor, motorcyclist, and adventure traveler.
