I was born and bred in the UK, but I have lived for more than the last decade of my life here in Ireland. The people and the country, are very good for the writer to ply his craft. In a previous life I was a structural engineer. Whilst following this profession, I was fortunate to travel all over the world.

Although set mostly in the hallowed corridors of the established Church of England my book is definitely NOT another religious tome. It tells the story of one mans attempt, by duplicity and subterfuge, to improve his position in life and that of his family. This eventually, through many twists and turns of fate, leads him to a position within this august institution. Here he discovers that he is not alone in being a charlatan, that the whole church is riddled with similar scoundrels as himself, and it becomes a battle for superiority and success.

My book is based upon my own experiences whilst working for the Corporation of the Church House in the early nineties. The Corporation are the administrative headquarters of the Church of England. All the characters and events depicted in my book, are based upon real people, and events that really occurred. I have changed the names and the dates to protect the innocent as well as the guilty. Lust, larceny, as well as liturgy figure prominently, as do blackmail and corruption. There is also a great deal of humour to be found, as well as an endearing love story that is the central thread of the books theme.

It is currently enjoying great reviews on amazon and elsewhere, and is a book for those that enjoy a good read about the frailty of the human condition, and the lengths a person will go to trying to better themselves. It also reveals a lot about the internal workings of the church, and all of its failings. Well maybe not all of them, it would take more than one book to cover them all.
