David Haggett

David Haggett's fascination with insects started many years ago as a child in England. As an adult, his work allowed him to travel around the world, taking him to many exotic locations. This global experience enabled him, in his spare time, to pursue his interest in natural history, including not just entomology but also reptiles.

In the late 1990s, while living in South Africa, David began breeding chameleons and insects. Over the next few years, this passion evolved into his full-time occupation, along with writing. During this time, David achieved several breeding firsts in the region.

David's first book, Exotic Chameleons in South Africa: Their Care and Breeding, quickly became popular with chameleon enthusiasts, selling out soon after its 2003 release. Responding to this demand, it was reprinted in early 2014 through CreateSpace for a wider audience.

David's love of insects is shown in his second book, Breeding Insects as Feeder Food, now available in Kindle and Paperback. In Malaysia, he bred many insect species, being the first for some.

An avid writer, David has contributed articles on topics including travel, finance, computer graphics, and natural history, and his first novel will be published in late 2026.

David currently lives in Mexico, where he continues his study of insects and documents his travels through his travel blog. His wife and daughter accompany him on this journey.
