Khader Mohiuddin
Sal Marcuz (formerly Khader Mohiuddin) is the Big Data Lead for North Americas Central Region at Oracle. Sal worked at Oracle for 6 years, then Sun Microsystems for 6 years, 3 years at Accenture and re-joined Oracle in 2010. In his current role, Sal applies his 20 years of enterprise software, hardware, and industry consulting expertise to architect Big Data solutions that solve the most complex business problems for customers. Khader is an expert in Information Architecture and has developed creative solutions for the oil and gas, utilities, telecom, finance, and auto industries in the areas of Data Warehousing, Advanced Analytics, and high-concurrency online systems. Khader first joined Oracle in 1996, part of Oracle Consulting in New York, solved scalability issues for complex database systems at major telecom companies. Transferred to Oracle Database development in Redwood shores, CA in 1997, where he engineered and won several competitive benchmarks for customers worldwide. He joined Sun Microsystems in 2002 as a Staff Engineer leading the effort of optimizing Oracle Database and Oracle Enterprise Applications on the Sun platform at the kernel level. He played a key role proving out Exadata Architecture as a concept during the initial stages of the development of the product, combining Sun and Oracle technologies. Khader worked at Accenture as a Business Transformation Architect and designed data systems for Fortune 100 customers using private/public clouds, DbaaS, IaaS, and so on. Helped companies achieve operational excellence by applying modern technologies to solve business problems resulting in savings of millions of dollars. Khader has authored whitepapers and presents at major conferences and local Hadoop user groups
