Axel Tracy

Axel Tracy is a Bachelor of Business graduate (Accounting major) from the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) and has also been educated at the University of New England (UNE) and the Australian National University (ANU). Beyond university studies, he has Passed the Level 1 CFA Exam on his first attempt and has a Graduate Certificate in Financial Planning.

From 2011 till 2014 he was employed by UTS to run PASS Sessions for the 2nd-year accounting subjects Accounting Standards & Regulations, and Accounting for Business Combinations. This involved teaching undergraduate accounting students in subjects with high failure rates. Accounting Standards and Regulations is a financial accounting subject that involves Australia's current implementation of the International Financial Reporting Standards. Accounting for Business Combinations is another financial accounting subject that involves the accounting of corporate groups and their mergers, acquisitions, subsidiaries, joint ventures and associates. After winning a CPA Merit Award at UNE, Axel has was hired by the university to be a one-on-one tutor in the 3rd year subject of Auditing, within their International Office.

His passion for financial markets has led his self-directed study as well as his studies at the CFA Institute and his Financial Planning qualification. While first employed in the financial services sector as a teenager, he did not begin his own investing journey until 2005 when he was 24.

Axel currently lives in Canberra, Australia's capital city.
