C. K. Carter

A native of South Florida, C.K. Carter graduated from UCF with a B.A. in Literature and was a high school English teacher and award-winning journalism adviser for 13 years. In 2012, C.K. teamed up with her former newspaper student, Ricardo J. Rodriguez, to create the pictures for her first book, The Castle Across the Street, published in August 2013. The Castle Across the Street was awarded a 2014 Silver President's Book Award by the Florida Authors and Publishers Association. C.K. published her second book, My Silly Dog Gus, in August 2014 and was awarded a 2014 Silver IBPA Benjamin Franklin Digital Book Award. My Silly Dog Gus was also awarded a 2015 Gold President's Book Award by the Florida Authors and Publishers Association. C.K. published her third book, The Castle Across the Street: Prince Jackson Goes to School, in Summer 2015 and was awarded a 2015 Silver IBPA Benjamin Franklin Digital Book Award and a 2016 Silver FAPA President's Book Award. Her fourth title, The Tremendous Tale of the Terrifying Toynado, was published in January 2016 and awarded a 2016 Silver FAPA President's Book Award.
