I'm excited to share my first historical novel, White Shadow, the story of a teenager who fell deeply and permanently in love with the man who led a guerrilla war resulting in the liberation of Mozambique from 500 years of Portuguese domination. I learned about her important and often unsung role in the revolution when I spent nearly a year in Africa. I've been a freelance journalist for many years and am the author of middle grade novels, Running Mates and Frisbee Dreams and a picture book, Muffin Magic, all drawn for personal experiences with children and grandchildren. When I'm not writing, I like to run and participate in USATF masters racing events in an incredibly small age group. In 2016 they invited me into their Masters Hall of Fame. I also have fun creating "OldBags,"--notecards and bookmarks from used teabags. Some of my four children and twelve grandchildren run and some of them write. None of them seem to be interested in re-using teabags.
