Nicola de Brun

Nicola de Brun (alias Klaus Brüngel), born in Holzwickede near Dortmund, studied music at the University of Music Detmold, branch Dortmund, and educational science at the University of Music Münster. He made a name for himself as composer, bassist and music-arranger with the “Kurt Weil Orchestra” in Sweden and Switzerland, and also as a member of the jazz rock band “Time in Space”. There followed a number of years as session musician and musical arranger at the WDR (German radio/TV station). Then began the liaison with Claus Peymann and Kurt Böhm (theatre music) at the Bochum Theatre. There he became acquainted with Herbert Grönemeier, and they played music together with Markus Stockhausen in the Cologne band “Ocean”. With his chamber orchestra Nicola de Brun accompanied well-known performers, and as lead singer of the quartet “Cadillac” he discovered his love to a capella singing. Today, he works as composer and musical arranger for publishing houses, theatre and film.
