Robert L. Slater

Robert L. Slater, is a science fiction author praised for “dark, compelling” characters, “fast paced, adrenaline soaked.” His first novel, ALL IS SILENCE has earned fans, awards, and worldwide exposure. The Deserted Lands universe, begun in 2012, tells of a Bat-Flu pandemic with eerie echoes of Covid 19.

A teacher for 25+ years, he wrote Lizzie, anti-hero of the first trilogy, to give voice to students dealt a challenging hand. Don Sakers of Analog, writes that Lizzie is “so compelling, she grabs you by the heart and pulls you along until it's three in the morning, the story's over and you just want to read more."

A jack of all trades, Rob has written stories, songs, and poetry since he could put pen to paper. He intends to keep writing stories he wants to read with diverse characters for readers (and non-readers) who often don't see themselves as central characters.
