Brad is a professor of history at Salem State University (MA), where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in modern American history, sports history, and history education. He has served as the chairperson of the American Historical Association's Teaching Prize Committee, and in 2012, he received the Graduate Faculty Teaching Award from the Northeastern Association of Graduate Schools.
Brad grew up in Martin and Jackson, Tennessee before earning his BA in history at Lyon College. He used a Rotary International Fellowship to study for a year at the University of Aberdeen (Scotland), earned his MA at the University of Tennessee and his PhD at Ohio State.
