Kim Johnston

Kim Johnston was born and raised in Alabama and has been fascinated by the paranormal since a young age. However, it wasn't until she moved to the small town of Chelsea, AL in 2008 that she encountered anything other worldly first hand. These experiences intrigued Kim so she started a quest for answers. She is now the founder of the paranormal research team, Spirit Communications and Research (SCARe) and has penned three books about things that go bump in the night. Her first book, Haunted Shelby County, was released in 2013 by The History Press. Her second book was written with with co-author and SCARe team co-founder, Shane Busby, titled Haunted Talladega County (2015). Her most recent work, Haint Blue: The Rockford Haunting (2016), written with co-author Jenny Scott, is the true story of her paranormal team's first client case in which they found a link to an infamous Voodoo Preacher and a string of mysterious deaths that made national headlines in the 1970s. Kim holds a degree in Psychology from Auburn University at Montgomery and is a wife and the mother of three spunky kids. By day, she works as a software developer and by night she pursues ghosts across the Deep South. Kim shares photos and history on her Facebook Pages, Haunted Shelby County Alabama and Haunted Talladega. She can be reached at kim@scareofal.com.
