My name is Thomas Wade; I am an Ordained Minister, I have a Doctorate of Divinity, Master Certifications in Business Coaching, Life Coaching, and Neuro Linguistic Programming, M.S Computer Science and B.S Aerospace Engineering. I am also a computer software engineer. I have worked for fortune 500 companies before striking out on my own to start a Consulting Company, then Software Company, and an Internet Company. Yes, I started out as a geek as a way of making a living, but it never defined me. I always had in my spirit that I was meant to do something for mankind; the challenge was “WHAT”, Everyone has a calling or purpose, it’s a matter of where you look –
I thought I was supposed to be a preacher, a community activist, a school teacher, even a psychologist, but none of those things fit me at that time in my life. All I knew was somehow, someway, I was supposed to help people.
As I became successful, I began helping people by writing checks to various organizations, giving money without question to people in need, and helping sponsor various causes. All of which only cost me money. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing to give money, but needless to say that alone did not fill that space in my spirit and I still continue to give.
It wasn't until I had children that I began to understand what helping really meant and believe me I did not come to it on my own. I thought giving my children everything they wanted was being a good father and doing the right thing, but my children basically told me by their actions and words, what they really needed was ME. You see, I was very busy building companies and working toward what I thought would be a better life for us.
What they told me through their actions and words was: They needed my time, they needed my love, they needed my knowledge, they needed my experiences, they needed my hindsight, they needed my foresight, they needed my direction and, believe it or not, they needed my rules, of course they needed the money also. Above everything else, they needed to know I loved them.
That’s when I started to understand just what it is I am supposed to do and that is to teach people. I was giving men a fish but I never taught them how to fish.
There are millions of teachers out there, so what does one more bring to the table. I hope you will find me honest, real, straight forward, and to the point. Some teachers come from academia; some from religious training, some by way of living. I came from all the above, I’m living a very rich and fulfilling life with numerous experiences, successes and failures, climbs and falls, emotional highs and lows - I've been thru the gauntlet. There will be times when I may have to run it again, no one’s perfect.
