Douglas P. Smith

Douglas P Smith was born in 1969 and has lived for most of his life in Syracuse, New York. Doug grew up in farming country and dropped out of high school to get a job in a local dinner called "Pfeiffers Drive Inn". Since then he has worked in 10 restaurants and is currently employed at Upstate University Hospital at Community General in the food service department. He works for Morrison Management Specialists. He has worked at the hospital since August 1996.

Douglas has published three books of poetry with Outskirts Press: " The Window At The Top Of The Door", " Wake Up The Ghosts" , and " Poems By A Dishwasher".

" Dawnie Chips, his first children's book and " Dear Uncle Sam And Other Poems About The American Dream" are published by " Avenue U Publications." Doug is also a contributor to Fm magazine.

Doug hopes to continue to improve as a writer and to someday work in the music industry as a songwriter.
