Mukesh Prasad

Born in India, Mukesh Prasad began attending India's armed forces training institution, the National Defence Academy (NDA), at an early age. At the NDA, he was placed in the science stream, where he consistently maintained the top position in physics and mathematics every semester he studied there.

After graduating, he joined his parents, who had migrated to the USA, and began his study of the newly emerging field of computer science at Tulane University in New Orleans, where he spent a year. After applying and being accepted to Yale University as a graduate student in computer science, Mukesh became involved with several early Internet protocols. He wrote the first ever remote login program for Unix computer systems. This feat required also architecting and implementing a concept known as pseudo terminals - an architecture that the Berkeley Software Distribution’s Unix operating system retained.

Moving to the computer industry, Mukesh was hired to work on the famed VisiCalc program, the precursor of Microsoft’s Excel and the application widely credited with revolutionizing computing by transitioning the microcomputer from a mere hobby into a serious business tool.

Mukesh has since worked in several positions in the computer industry and is proficient in several computer languages and systems.

He is the author of a foundation-level book on Java server-side programming.

Besides programming, Mukesh has also been very interested in science, philosophy and religion.

His interest in philosophy and religion led to God vs.The Universe: Essays on Religions, Spirituality and More, which he co-authored.

He never lost his early love for science, particularly physics, and has used the Internet to pursue these interests, which his third book, A New Science: From Light to Eternity, clearly reflects.
