Nancy L. Baumann Biographical Statement
Nancy Baumann has a B. S. in Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an M.S. in Special Education from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and an M.L.S. from the University of North Texas. She has been an elementary classroom at Grades 1 through 6; she taught middle school learning disabilities; she has been a school librarian at the elementary and middle school levels; and she worked in the University of Missouri’s School of Information Sciences and Learning Technologies. She served on the 2010 John Newbery Committee; she was a recipient of the American Association of School Libraries Innovative Reading Grant; and she received the School Library Journal Giant Step Award for her exemplary work as an elementary school librarian. Nancy has been a Team Leader for International Reading Association’s Children’s Choices program, and she is the author of For the Love of Reading: A Guide to Reading Promotions for K-8 (2013) published by ABC-CLIO.
