Elizabeth Hellmuth Margulis

Elizabeth Hellmuth Margulis is a Professor at Princeton University, where she directs the Music Cognition Lab. Her work on the cognitive science of music bridges the humanities and the sciences. Her book On Repeat: How Music Plays the Mind won the Wallace Berry Award from the Society for Music Theory. Her co-edited volume The Science-Music Borderlands won the Ruth A. Solie Award from the American Musicological Society. Her short introduction to music psychology in Oxford’s VSI series provides an accessible introduction to the field, and has been translated into seven languages. She is a past president of the Society for Music Perception and Cognition.
