Tracy Patrick

Tracy Patrick writes and lives in Paisley. Her debut novel, Blushing is for Sinners, was commended by the Saltire First Book of the Year Award judges 2019. It was listed as one of the Best Scottish Books 2019 in ASLS's online magazine, The Bottle Imp. Blushing is for Sinners weaves its narrative between the thread mills of 1960s Paisley, and the old growth forests of contemporary British Columbia. It tells the story of Jean McParland, a mill worker dissatisfied by her small town existence and humdrum job, whose life is turned on its head when old flame, Billy, is released from jail. Fifty years later, her daughter, Ava, works for a Canadian logging company. Struggling to deal with her husband's corruption scandal and her volatile son, Scott, she uncovers a trail of family secrets leading her back to the town of her birth.

Tracy Patrick is author of Wild Eye Fire Eye, a collection of poems inspired by animals in Celtic life and myth. Her poetry collection, Portrait, is due out from Seahorse Publications in early 2022.

She was founder and editor of Earth Love, a small press poetry magazine that raised money for conservation charities through its quarterly publications and anthologies. She is currently one third of Jenny's Well Press, an independent publisher based in Paisley.
