Menandro Abanes

Menandro S. Abanes is a researcher of Southeast Asian issues, particularly, regional integration, peace and conflict, environmental challenges, and humanitarian crisis. He is a fellow of the Building a Better Asia (BABA) by the Asian Dialogue Society. He has graduate degrees in Anthropology and Development Studies (Ateneo de Manila University, 2006) and International Peace Studies (United Nations-mandated University for Peace, 2008). He conducted his PhD research on Christian-Muslim relations in the Philippines as part of a larger research project on ethno-religious conflicts in Indonesia and Philippines (Radboud University Nijmegen, 2014). He used to teach at Ateneo de Naga University in Bicol, Philippines. He is currently a lecturer in Safety and Security Management Studies (SSMS) at The Hague University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands.
