The book:-

Arctic Plunge was around 5 years in production, starting life as a short story that now forms just chapter two. The title and that chapter came from a real life event that struck England around October 2007, following rapidly upon a run in the Bourne Woods (famous as the setting for the opening scenes in Gladiator, plus Harry Potter, Robin Hood and Dark Shadows) where I really did get lost. Putting the two events together and changing the runners' gender made for an interesting scenario. Then the story really came alive...
