Paul Danahar

Paul Danahar was the BBC's Middle East Bureau Chief between 2010-2013. He is presently the BBC's Washington Bureau Chief. He ran the organisation's news coverage of the Arab Spring for which he won two Emmy's and a Peabody. He is now covering American Foreign policy during the Trump presidency.

He has appeared before the UK House Of Lords International Relations Committee to advise on foreign policy in the Middle East. He has also spoken at the US State Department and this book has been placed in the State Department Library. In addition he has given lectures and speeches at a variety of universities and think tanks including the LSE, Chatham House, the Middle East Institute, USC and the Smithsonian in Washington. He is a regular commentator on foreign affairs for the US media.

In 2003 he was awarded an MBE for his work as the BBC's Baghdad Bureau Chief during the American-led invasion. He is one of a small number of journalists to have reported from all three countries that make up the so-called 'Axis of Evil': Iraq, Iran and North Korea.
