Laurie Zaring grew up on a dairy farm in Newport, Pennsylvania. After earning a B. A. in Mathematics from Susquehanna University, she returned to her hometown and married her high school sweetheart, Jeffrey. She teaches math in the same school from which she graduated and earned a Masters in Education Administration from Temple University. Laurie is blessed to be a happily married mom of 3 amazing children, surrounded by a supportive husband, an amazing family, and encouraging friends. She enjoys baking, photography, watching her 3 children and 14 nieces and nephews grow up, and going on vacations with family. Together with illustrator and friend, Jessica Barlup, Laurie wrote her first children's book in 2013. Although she has spent the last 12 years as a math teacher, she has enjoyed writing this year, working on ideas for possible future books.
