David McLendon

David attended Georgia Southern College (now GSU) from Atlanta. After graduating from GSU in 1987 with a B.S. in psychology, David married Elena at Statesboro New Covenant Church. They then moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where they served in various aspects of ministry and attended Oral Roberts University from which David received his Master’s degree. After graduating from ORU, David and Elena headed to Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico to be missionaries. During this season, they taught in a Bible school, and worked with youth and in church-planting. In 1995, they felt led to return to Tulsa where they founded a Spanish language church called Piedra Angular, served as police chaplain, and opened a Bible training center. After pastoring in Texas from 2005 to 2009, the McLendons returned to Statesboro to pastor Statesboro New Covenant Church. During his ministry years, David traveled to minister in 30+ nations; he has spoken on television and radio, as well as in Bible schools and conferences. David and Elena have 3 children and three grandchildren.
