It must be in the genes! My great great grandfather, Louis Becke was a prolific published writer, one of his stories being "T'is In the Blood". I can only agree. I tried to shake it off and take another path but eventually writing sucked me in. Most of my career has been as an actress in theatre, film and television. After studying screenwriting at University in Melbourne, I wrote the feature film script, The Paper Bride and following that, some film scripts for children, "Take 2" which were published both in script form and as filmed dvds. During the six years I worked as writer/producer/performer with Actors For Refugees (which took the true stories of refugees to theatres, schools and universities throughout Australia) I began fictionalising some of the stories. This inspired my novel, The Camros Bird, which encompasses many of these stories. My intention and hope in writing this book, is that it will be of interest as a universal tale that will engage a wide readership. I share with my great, great grandfather a love of travel and adventure and am currently writing about some of the experiences I've had as a traveller. I am working too on a new novel, "Very Good at Dying", a humorous tale about the lives of two sisters and their competitive careers in the theatre.
