Starting at the age of 14, I taught myself how to create music. I learned how to write songs, record lyrics, edit, and mix music compositions. I taught myself how to protect, package, publish, and market my own music. Overtime, I built a fan-base and generated a second source of income from creating and publishing my own music.
As a young adult I was excited about the buzz and business I created for myself as an independent artists. I was making my own music, generating royalties, getting the attention of my peers, and earning the respect of recording labels of the music industry.
In the midst of my success I wanted to share. I wanted to share what I felt were the tools of being an independent artist in the music industry. I thought about all the aspiring artists who share my passion for music; who may want to follow the road-map I laid for my success. So I decided to write the book, “Independent Artistry: A How-To Book for Independent Music Artists”.
