A lifelong fitness enthusiast, Tim Harpman went to college at first for the sole purpose of becoming a track coach. But as life would have it there were twists and turns along the way. First he fell in love with teaching high school students a variety of subjects including: Chemistry, Physics, Physical Science, Biology, and Math. He ended up coaching not only track but football, basketball, cross country, youth soccer and T-ball. Mid-way through his 34 year educational career he became interested in school administration. He was the Dean of Students at a high school in Florida and an Assistant Principal and Principal of several schools in North Carolina.
Mr. Harpman had success in administration, teaching and in sports: school awards of excellence, district championships in track, and an undefeated football season. But he would say watching his own kids, and former students and athletes, grow up, raise their own families, and give back to their communities gave him the biggest thrill.
Mr. Harpman wrote Visions as a result of a calling. It came to a peak one day as he and a co-worker left work at the same time. She said, "Tim, you always talk about hearing from God. I have been a Christian my whole life and I have never heard from him!"
He knew right then, he had to get to work. Visions is a collection of true-life, inspiring God stories that will leave you shaking your head in amazement.
Life Vest Under Your Seat was written after a teenage family member was stricken with cancer. Thousands of hours of documentaries, interviews, reading studies, research, and personal experience led to a simple, research driven, holistic plan to live life differently. The idea was born that possibly the current standard of medical care may not always be the best bet to beat cancer and thrive. And if this plan helped others to avoid many of our worst diseases- that was even better!
Julia was written chronicling a fight against cancer, having success and failure, and dealing with both from a eternal perspective.
