I spent 42 years in consulting and management. For 30 of those years I worked as an analyst, manager, and later as director of a Fortune 100 firm’s telecommunications systems.
In 2001 I moved to the nonprofit sector when I joined the Center for Nonprofit Excellence as Director of Consultation. During my twelve years in that position, I conducted over 1,000 board and staff retreats, workshops on governance, planning, leadership, creativity, change, project management, and team-building. I coached over 200 boards helping them improve their governance ability, especially in their strategic planning responsibilities.
When I worked in the for-profit sector, I was authored over a hundred articles on management topics in a national professional trade newspaper.
As I developed my expertise and experience in the nonprofit realm, I felt I could extend my value to the community through publishing my observations on how nonprofit boards transform themselves into high performing teams.
Even though I have recently retired from the Center, I still work as an emeritus consultant with nonprofits in our community and intend to publish more works aimed at helping nonprofits in their quest for mission success.
