Michael Sherer

Michael M. Sherer (1944-2017) was, in his words, "A semi-retired, semi-literate travel writer" and "a retired Vietnam vet, ex-charter boat captain, one-time ruby miner and gem dealer with an insatiable urge to travel." At the end of his life, he lived in the city of La Antigua Guatemala in Guatemala, better known as simply Antigua, Guatemala. Sherer wrote travel memoirs in the spirit of Hunter S. Thompson and the popular guide to Antigua, Our Man in Antigua, the title of which was inspired by Graham Greene's Our Man in Havana.
