Steven Burton is a Senior Lecturer. He currently lectures in the areas of Early Years and Childhood Studies, with particular specialism in Leadership and Management, Professionalism in the Children's Workforce, and Safeguarding.
He has recently co-edited a new book with a University of Huddersfield colleague, 'Safeguarding and Protecting Children in the Early Years,' to which he also contributed three chapters. In addition to this, he has recently co-authored two chapters in 'Teaching in Lifelong Learning,' a current teacher training text.
Steven is currently working towards his doctorate, and is examining the synergy between the national standards for Initial Teacher Training, and the expectations and requirements of teachers in the post-compulsory sector.
