Mike Jones

A Richmond, Virginia native born in 1955, Mike is president of Core Consulting, Inc., a firm specializing in business and IT consulting. He and his firm promote a servant leadership model of assisting others.

It wasn’t Mike’s intent to write this particular book. However, the compunction of a failing economy, bringing with it a flood of unemployment, demanded it. For more than three years Mike captured stories – interviewed hundreds of affected individuals - researched essential material and developed an operating framework. His book is proving to be a steady companion for those willing to accept the challenge of intense self-examination.

Mike has spent 40 years in leadership and serving others. He has committed himself to the local community, getting involved and serving on the boards of many not-for-profit organizations. His affiliations include Junior Achievement, The Make-A-Wish Foundation, The Daily Planet (services supporting the homeless), the Greater Richmond ARC, The Friends Association for Children, and the United Way.

Mike enjoys fitness and a vegan lifestyle, is a lifetime learner, and pushes people to exceed their personal goals and expectations.

He finds himself reflective, having been given a 2nd chance to live life.

Mike is presently working on his next book, It's Lonely at the Top: Lessons in Leadership & Life.
