Lauren Becker

Lauren Becker discovered her identity a little late, having accrued a lifetime of debt to attend law school. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she works in health care policy. Lauren's fiction has appeared in numerous print and online journals, including Tin House, American Short Fiction, Los Angeles Review, The Pedestal Magazine, and Wigleaf. Her non-fiction has been featured in The Rumpus, The Nervous Breakdown, and Nailed Magazine. If I Would Leave Myself Behind has received advance praise from writers Carolyn Cooke ("Amor and Psycho"), Mary Miller ("The Last Days of California"), and Joshua Mohr ("Fight Song"), among others.

Lauren is founder and editor of Corium Magazine, runs a reading series, and writes whenever possible. In her virtually non-existent free time, she practices Krav Maga, watches competitive cooking shows, and thinks a lot about learning to cook. She is currently at work on a novel.
