Marilyn Bay

Marilyn Bay grew up on a farm in northern Colorado, near the land homesteaded by her great-great grandparents in the 1880s. Today she is an avid gardener and loves to freeze, can and dry food and herbs from her substantial garden. As a result, she has taken the view that more than one trip per month to the grocery store is too much. In addition to writing, she works for an ag organization and raises natural lamb marketed direct to her customers. She enjoys training horses and is a certified Colorado 4-H horse show judge and level rater.

Prior to settling down in her native Colorado, she was general manager of the Taiwan public relations branch of Saatchi and Saatchi Advertising, then the world's largest advertising agency and also spent six months in rural Costa Rica. She is fluent in Spanish and speaks conversational Mandarin Chinese.

In her first nonfiction title, "All We Like Sheep, Lessons from the Sheepfold," Marilyn and her co-author Millie, who is her mother, use their storytelling abilities to share sheep-herding experiences that speak of God as the Good Shepherd in relationship with His followers.

"Prairie Grace" chronicles the events that led up to the November 1864 Sand Creek Massacre in Eastern Colorado. Sequel "Prairie Truth" is set in 1880s southern Colorado in the Spanish-speaking settlement of San Luis. Both novels are heavily researched and follow the Colorado historical timeline.
