David Scheinker received a BA and MA in mathematics from The University of Pennsylvania, received a PhD in theoretical mathematics from The University of California San Diego in 2011, and has been a research fellow at MIT and MGH since September of 2013. His areas of research include functions of several complex variables, operator theory, computational learning theory, and healthcare management. Before his current position he conducted theoretical math research and taught at several universities, most recently as a visiting assistant professor at Drexel University.
Concurrently with his university appointments, David has sought opportunities to communicate mathematics to a broader audience. He worked as a statistical consultant for The Center for Neurological study at UCSD, lectured in several high schools, and spent several summers teaching theoretical math to gifted 11 and 12 year old students for the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth. He is currently working on a popular math book titled "Infinity in Wonderland."
