Wanda DeHaven Pyle

Wanda DeHaven Pyle has been selected as a finalist in the Bookvana and Book Excellence Awards. She grew up in the Flint Hills of Kansas and her recollections of life on the tallgrass prairie influence her writing. Her work explores the untold stories of past generations and the impact they have on those who follow. "All across the country the landscape is dotted with abandoned farmsteads and buildings whose walls are filled with stories of heartache and happiness," she says."These are the stories I tell."

She currently lives in Claremont, California with her husband and spends her retirement years reading, writing and volunteering her time in support of at-risk children. She authors a blog entitled "School Marms and Cowboys" where she records the inspirations, reflections and insights gleaned through her writing.
