Bob Looker

Hi I am Bob Looker. I grew up in a small village in East Sussex, England. To escape the restrictions of living there I joined the Army and was fortunate to be able to travel across the world. As a result I have slept on the desert of North Africa, in a tent at -32C in the Artic circle and the jungles in Asia. It is from these many experiences that I have been able to call on what I learned when writing my various books.

I started writing my first book to fill in my lunch breaks and to see if I could. To be honest I have yet to finish that book. But from this first experience I have published 6 books on various subjects such as 18th century smugglers, the British Resistance in WWII, the Burma conflict in WWII.

Under the pen name of J.J. Maxwell I have published 9 books in my Helen James series of children's science fiction adventure books.

In recent years I have switched to writing Murder Mystery stories in 2 separate series. The first series is set in Rural Southern England - Inspector Davies series Murder at Fletching Manor and recently Murder in the Cornfield.

My second series is set in the USA, prompted by a Facebook friend who wanted to be in one of my books. The series is Norma Andrews FBI. She was a Sherriff's Deputy in Halam County, until she joined the FBI and was teamed up with an older Agent, FBI Special Agent 'Lucky' Little. Like the other series, so far there have been 2 books published Murder in the Barn (My Fb friend was killed) and more recently Murders in Granger County. Coming shortly Twin Troubles. The majority of these stories are set in country locations and Norma and 'Lucky' become the Hillbilly Team.
