Brittany Deal is the Founder and CEO of Savvy Girl, a lifestyle brand that publishes short, engaging, and informative how-to books that young women actually want to read. Deal’s edgy, smart, “girlfriend-to-girlfriend” titles are jam-packed with useful info and presented in a way that helps women put all of what they’re learning to use in their own lives—instantly. You won’t find any 5-week diet plans or 300-page boring self-help books here; Savvy Girl is all about cutting to the chase and giving women all the pertinent info they need to be savvy on a range of topics.

Deal’s first book, Savvy Girl: A Guide to Wine, was published in October 2013. Deal spent two years researching wine and the wine industry to write the book—a nice change from her previous, six-figure job in banking that she ditched after an epiphany in the Bolivian Amazon. With so much to learn—and far too many uninteresting how-to books lining the self-help aisles of bookstores—Deal decided to launch Savvy Girl. Now, she has several other collaborative books in the works, including titles on healthy eating, etiquette, sex, and more.

Deal graduated Cum Laude from the University of Southern California in 2007, with a B.S. in Business Administration. Born in Seattle, Washington, Deal now lives in Manhattan Beach, California, with her fiancé.
