Robert J. Taylor

Robert Taylor had a distinguished career as a hospital administrator before becoming an international consultant. He has worked in over thirty developing countries as an adviser to the U.S. State Department, the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank, and other international aid agencies.

His first book, Hardship Post, an account of his years living in Pakistan where he worked for the Aga Khan, won first place for memoir in the 2012 Royal Palm Literary Awards Competition sponsored by the Florida Writers Association. In 2011, he won the Barbara Robinette Moss scholarship at the Taos Summer Writers Conference for his essay on the creative process. He recently published a second memoir, Memories Lost and Found, a search for family heritage.

He began his career in creative writing as a member of Tornado Alley Writers at Film in the City in St. Paul, Minnesota. A native of Minneapolis, he and his wife of fifty-seven years currently live in Colorado.
