Julia Gometz

Julia Gometz grew up in Gastonia, North Carolina, a small town near Charlotte. At the age of eleven, her family moved to Ottawa, Canada, where she persistently attempted to lose her southern accent, while attending French school. As the daughter of a Reform rabbi, known for fostering peaceful dialogue between faiths, Julia started her career as a mediator. She graduated with a Master's degree from the Institute of Conflict Analysis and Resolution at George Mason University. Julia mediated all kinds of disputes for ten years including serving on the panel of mediators for the National Association of Securities Dealers on Wall Street. She wanted to transfer her skills to a more corporate setting and took on the role of head of employee relations at JetBlue Airways. Being an "intrapreneur" (an entrepreneur inside of a company), Julia pioneered (in 2008) one of the first set of measurements for employee engagement, called eNPS (employee net promoter score), which indicates how likely an employee is to recommend the company as a good place to work. Her work at JetBlue won an award from the Corporate Leadership Council for creating a workforce of brand ambassadors. She is married and has four children.
