Darren Darker

I started my own car maintenance business 10 years ago and currently have 6 staff and growing. In my twenties I served as a member of the Civil Defence as both a voluntary fireman and a coxswain on a rescue boat, whose duties included helping the Fire Brigade fight gorse fires and assisting the Gardai in searches for bodies. I have been the recipient of several awards for my service to the state. However, my greatest achievement to date is being a proud dad to Adam.

I am a member of the Irish Writers Centre and in the past have contributed several articles to Writing.ie. Every day I fight my own battle with both depression and anxiety and I find writing gives me an outlet that calms my mind. I have been writing for close to 10 years and so far, have written 3 novels, all of which have been self published and are (obviously) available on Amazon. They feature my unwilling hero - John Morgan. Set in modern Ireland, Morgan is a normal man with a highly developed sense of right and wrong who finds himself in a series of dangerous and exhilarating situations. Despite his sometime obvious lack of skills, he isn't afraid to do the right thing no matter the personal cost to himself.

The John Morgan novels are - #1 Redemption (formerly published as 'Under An Irish Sky'), #2 No end to the lies & #3 Fighting Back.
