Steve Bailey is a clinical psychologist as well as a Jewish educator and author. He is an alumnus of Yeshiva University, and received his Master’s and Doctorate degrees from Rutgers University. Dr. Bailey has served on the faculties of American and Canadian Universities and, in 1991, was the co-founder and director of an innovative, co-educational Orthodox Jewish High School in Los Angeles (Shalhevet) that accents democratic values and ethical behavior.
He is the author of several books, chapters and journal articles in Jewish education and two books on R. Hirsch’s teachings on ritual practices and Biblical holy days, through a series entitled, “Hearing the Biblical Voice” (www.thebiblicalvoice.com). He continued the series, inspired by Rabbi Hirsch’s Bible commentaries, with five volumes of “Studies on the Weekly Torah Readings,” covering the five books of the Torah.
