M L Lambert

M.L.(Mike) Lambert was raised and educated in Iowa in the heart of the mid-western United States. He chose the same background for Jessica Jones, the main character in his debut novel; she hails from Peoria, IL, but now lives in San Francisco, CA after embarking on her own life a few years ago.

Mike holds a B.S. degree in Engineering from Iowa State Univ. and an M.B.A. from Rutgers Univ. He lived in various parts of the U.S. during his working career with the long-distance branch of A.T.& T. from 1960 to 1987. He then spent 15 years as an adjunct faculty member with the College of Business at San Francisco State Univ. where he taught 2 core courses for undergraduates.

Mike and his wife Norita have lived in San Francisco for the last 30 years. They also had a 'country home' in Penn Valley, CA in the Sierra Mountain foothills from 2003 to 2015. There, Mike originated a Writers' Workshop for senior citizens who write all types of creative works for their own satisfaction. Mike served as Publisher of the Wildwood Literary Review, an on-line publication dedicated to displaying the creative writing products of Nevada County, CA writers.

"i, Jessica - Finding My Way" is Mike's debut novel. He says the inspiration for the story was anecdotes he heard at the dinner table from Norita and her contemporary friends about single life in San Francisco in the 1960s and 70s.

Mike calls his experience of writing his first novel an example of 'Lifelong Learning'. He refutes the adage about old dogs and new tricks. "It's never too late," he says.
