Going from being a deep shaft coal miner to a Director of Photography with all of the adventures that entails has been one terrific roller coaster of a life which is continuing for me as a writer.

There is no doubt that working in the film industry has added a superb cache of exciting experiences to the creative bank which we call a memory.

Who could forget crashing at San Francisco Airport in a helicopter, right on the threshold lines, dropping 1300 feet in a small metal cage down a mine shaft, being catapulted into the air from the flight deck of the USS Nimitz or going on a tour of duty in a Nuclear Submarine, hiding under a tank in a war zone,as the tank fired shells and took incoming small arms fire.

All good stuff for a writer to recall and pass on to a reader, plus the memories of exotic locations from around the world thrown in.
